    Introduction

Benefit Administrators, a wholly owned subsidiary of E.G. Lee & Company, Inc. headquartered in Lafayette, CA wanted a web based proprietary prescription card solution for bridging the gap between the pharmacies (prescription drug providers) and the individuals who wish to purchase prescription drugs.

    Scenario
    case_study_hpay
The sought after solution needed to facilitate not only fast, reliable, secure payments for prescription drug purchases but it should also be capable of being integrated as secondary payer for various health insurance plans that are also offered by the organisation.

Apart from this the system is also required to be robust, scalable, modular, easily maintainable and extensible thus enabling more number of pharmacies to be added to the system with ease.

    What eBizneeds did

    • Designing the entire website in line with the company’s products and services
    • Optimizing the database structure to manage various members and organizations
    • Designing the admin section to manage members and funds as well as support panel for its members
    • Developing a windows service to automatically communicate with Channels (Server) of Medical Service Providers without any human interaction.
    • Implementing a .NET web service for providing member details as well as capturing data from various Medical Service Provider channels
    • Encryption and payment integration for more security and reliability.

The eBizneeds design team concentrated on providing a smart, intuitive, simple yet soothing look and feel to the entire web based solution.

SQL Sever 2005 formed the back end for providing comprehensive reporting for various categories of users - Admin, Employer and Member. The biggest challenge, however, proved to be the automated windows service and SOAP based web service for communicating with other server channels along with strong data encryption to provide secure transactions between member, organization and pharmacies.

The end result is a solution that maximised ROI for the organization, minimised total cost of ownership and greatly improved operational efficiency by minimising the paper work.
